RocketReach explained: what the contact data platform includes, how it sources emails, what each plan costs, its privacy terms, and how to check an address.

RocketReach dashboard showing people data, contact discovery, verification, privacy, and security

RocketReach is a contact data platform for sales, recruiting and marketing teams. You search for a person or a company. It returns business and private emails, phone numbers and firm details. It also offers outreach tools, a browser extension and an API.

This guide covers what RocketReach is and what each of the RocketReach products does. It also walks through the RocketReach features on each plan. It explains where the data comes from and what the plans cost. It also covers privacy, security and how to check a RocketReach email before you send to it. Every fact comes from the RocketReach official website or its privacy policy, checked in October 2026. We link to each source.

We are not affiliated with RocketReach. BillionVerify is an email verification service. Many RocketReach users export contacts and send cold email. Near the end, we show how to check those addresses first.

Key facts (checked October 2026):

  • RocketReach started in 2015, according to its About Us page.
  • RocketReach puts its people database at over 700 million profiles.
  • A free RocketReach account includes five lookups, and signing up needs no card.
  • The RocketReach Essentials tier cost $399 a year on the pricing page.
  • The RocketReach privacy notice says it may guess a work address from a firm's usual pattern.
  • BillionVerify charges nothing for an unknown result.

What Is RocketReach?

RocketReach sells B2B people data. The RocketReach company overview on its About Us page gives the basics. The firm was "founded in 2015." It describes itself as "a leading Lead and Sales Intelligence platform."

The company states its mission plainly: "to enable teams to supercharge growth through connections, with the highest quality data and easy-to-use solutions that drive growth and value."

RocketReach company overview on the About Us page

RocketReach serves four groups. It aims to help "sales, recruiting, marketing, and entrepreneurs" connect "directly with the right people and decision makers."

What does "RocketReach" mean?

The name hints at speed and reach. The brand uses rocket imagery throughout its site. Its values page even includes a line titled "Houston we have a Solution." The product itself is a search engine for business contacts.

The table above is a short RocketReach company overview. For the full story, read its About page.

Is the RocketReach official website rocketreach.co?

Yes. The RocketReach official website uses the .co domain, not .com. Searches for "rocketreach com" and "RocketReach official site" lead to the same place. Bookmark the RocketReach official website to avoid look-alike pages.

What You Can Find on RocketReach

RocketReach centers on people and companies. Each lookup can return several kinds of data.

Work and personal emails

RocketReach lists "verified work & personal emails." You can choose which kind you want. A setting lets you "lookup only personal or only professional emails."

Phone numbers

Higher tiers add phone data. Pro and Ultimate both carry "unlimited verified mobile & direct phone numbers." Phone lookups help when a prospect never answers email. The Essentials plan covers email only.

Company data

RocketReach also tracks firms. Its homepage example shows a company record with revenue, headcount, address, phone, SIC and NAICS codes.

Insights and intent

RocketReach Insights adds signals: "news, buyer intent, and tech stack." The goal is to find "the best time to connect." The RocketReach intent data feature sits on the Ultimate plan only.

RocketReach Products and Features

RocketReach has grown from a lookup tool into a suite. The RocketReach products menu lists Contact Database, Prospect Lists, Insights, Extension, Contact Data API, MCP, Sequences, Autopilot, Organize Contacts, Integrations and Verify.

Here is what the RocketReach products do, in the company's own words.

Contact Database

This is the core of the RocketReach products. Users get "up-to-date access" to contact information worldwide, per the company. Searches use "50+ filters including work, industry & location."

Prospect Lists

Lists let you save and group contacts for a campaign or a hiring search.

Browser extension

The Chrome extension works while you browse. It pulls addresses, direct dials and firmographic data from social networks or company sites.

Data Enrichment API and MCP

Developers can query RocketReach directly through its enrichment API. Each paid tier includes both. MCP lets AI agents call RocketReach as a tool.

Sequences and Autopilot

These are outreach tools. Sequences build campaigns from templates. Autopilot runs searches and outreach jobs on a schedule. Tiers allow 5, 10 or 25 active Autopilot jobs.

Integrations

RocketReach connects to other sales tools: Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft and Bullhorn. The two upper tiers include these connectors.

The RocketReach Salesforce integration is the deepest one. On Ultimate, it adds custom mapping, so you choose which RocketReach fields land in which Salesforce fields. Teams that live in Salesforce often pick Ultimate for that reason. Before you sync, decide how to handle duplicates and old records. A clean CRM makes the RocketReach Salesforce integration far more useful.

RocketReach Verify

This is the newest addition. It was "originally built to verify emails across 700M+ profiles," and is now "available in Beta" for checking emails already in your CRM.

Where Does RocketReach Get Its Data?

RocketReach answers this in two places. One product page lists the sources. The RocketReach privacy policy explains how personal data is gathered.

Sources RocketReach lists

The product page names five kinds of sources:

  • Licensed datasets from data partners.
  • Publicly available information.
  • Human-verified data.
  • A data sharing cooperative.
  • Proprietary data sources and email algorithms.

RocketReach privacy policy: data sources

The RocketReach privacy policy, last updated September 30, 2026, adds detail. It says its "search technology scans the web and collects publicly available information." It names "social media sites, corporate websites and public records" as sources.

One sentence matters most for email senders. RocketReach "may also infer Personal Data about you." The policy gives an example: "inferring professional email addresses based on common formats used at a particular company."

In other words, some addresses are educated guesses. A guess based on firstname.lastname@ can be right. It can also be wrong for a new hire, a shared name or a company with an unusual format.

RocketReach database size

The RocketReach database size depends on what you count. People profiles: "700M+." API records: "4.5B." Companies: "60 million." Profiles, records and companies are different units, so the numbers do not conflict.

A large database size is not the same as fresh data. A profile can be complete and still list an old employer. That is why the RocketReach database size matters less than how recently a record was checked.

How RocketReach Works, Step by Step

Using RocketReach follows the same pattern for most tasks.

Step 1: Create an account

Sign up on the RocketReach official website. Creating an account is free, and no card is needed to start.

Search by name, company, title, location or skill. Filters narrow the list. You can also open the extension on a profile or company site.

Step 3: Run a lookup

A lookup reveals contact details for one person. Checks run at that moment. In RocketReach's words, "every time a user does a lookup we run email prediction + verification steps in real time."

Step 4: Save or export

Add contacts to a list. Export them to a CSV or push them to your CRM. Plans cap yearly exports.

Step 5: Reach out

Send email from RocketReach Messages and Sequences, or from your own tool. Each plan caps sending at 500 emails a day.

RocketReach Plans and Pricing

RocketReach sells subscriptions with lookups and exports. On October 14, 2026, three self-serve plans were listed on its pricing page, priced per month when billed annually:

PlanPriceBilledDataExports
Essentials$33 per month$399 per yearEmail only1,200 per year
Pro$75 per month$899 per yearEmail, phone3,600 per year
Ultimate$142 per month$1,699 per yearEmail, phone20,000 per year

RocketReach plans: Essentials, Pro and Ultimate on the pricing page

Annual plans list unlimited lookups. Monthly billing caps lookups at 100, 250 or 1,000 a month. A toggle shows annual billing saving 50%. For larger groups, team "plans start at $6K annually."

Is RocketReach free?

Partly. "Free accounts have access to 5 free lookups with no credit card required," per the RocketReach FAQ. After that, you need a paid plan.

What happens when a lookup finds nothing?

You keep the credit: "a lookup is used if we find and verify email or phone, otherwise it is refunded."

Can you cancel a RocketReach subscription?

Yes, from your accounts page. Cancellation "takes effect the following term." You keep access until the paid month or year ends.

Prices change. Check the RocketReach official website on the day you buy.

RocketReach Security and Compliance

RocketReach publishes a security page. Here are its main claims:

  • Certifications: "SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001."
  • Hosting: Amazon Web Services, inside a Virtual Private Cloud.
  • Encryption: "HTTPS / TLS 1.2+" in transit and "AES-256-GCM" at rest.
  • Single sign-on: "SAML 2.0," with optional multi-factor authentication.
  • Testing: annual internal and external penetration tests.
  • Recovery: a "12-hour RPO and 24-hour RTO."

These cover how RocketReach protects customer accounts. They do not cover how accurate a given email is. That is a separate question.

RocketReach GDPR compliance

The RocketReach privacy policy covers rights under GDPR and US state laws. RocketReach names a data protection representative, VeraSafe, for the EU and UK. It also states that it is "a data broker under Texas law."

RocketReach Privacy: Removing Your Profile

Many people find themselves listed on RocketReach. The RocketReach privacy policy gives two routes out.

Remove a profile

The policy points to a removal form at rocketreach.co/remove-profile. RocketReach "may require you to verify your identity" first. It says it processes opt-out and deletion requests "in the same manner by removing the consumer's personal information from our database."

RocketReach do not sell my info

The policy also offers a "Do Not Sell or Share My Info tool." It covers the "selling" of personal data as US privacy laws define it. The RocketReach do not sell link sits in the site footer.

Who Uses RocketReach?

RocketReach names four main groups.

  • Sales teams: finding decision makers and building lead lists.
  • Recruiters: reaching candidates directly. RocketReach integrates with Bullhorn, a recruiting system.
  • Marketers: building audiences and account-based campaigns.
  • Founders: doing their own prospecting.

The Ultimate plan also lists "healthcare data," aimed at teams selling to healthcare providers.

How Accurate Is RocketReach?

RocketReach makes strong claims. Its plans page states data is "verified on demand and in real time with 98% accuracy." That is the company's own figure, not an independent test.

Three facts from RocketReach's own pages explain why a check still matters:

  • Some emails are inferred. As noted above, some work addresses come from common company formats.
  • People change jobs. A verified address can stop working when someone leaves.
  • Some domains accept everything. A catch-all domain accepts mail for any name, so a server check cannot prove one mailbox exists.

No B2B data vendor can avoid these limits. They come from how email works.

Verify RocketReach Emails Before You Send

Bounced emails hurt your sender reputation. Too many bounces, and mailbox providers start filtering your domain. So a list from any data provider needs a check ahead of a campaign.

Our guide to RocketReach email verification covers the export-and-verify workflow step by step. It explains how to clean a RocketReach export before you import it into a CRM or sender.

Catch-all email check with the BillionVerify catch-all verifier

The BillionVerify catch-all verifier checks whether a domain accepts every address.

BillionVerify checks each address in layers:

  • Syntax: is the address written correctly?
  • Domain and MX records: does the domain accept mail?
  • SMTP: does the server accept this mailbox?
  • Catch-all: does the domain accept every name? We report catch-all as its own result. We never count it as valid.
  • Disposable and role addresses: is it a throwaway inbox or a shared box like sales@?

You get 20 free credits each day you use your account, up to 600 a month. They never expire. No credit card is needed. A valid or invalid result uses one credit. Unknown results are free. Re-checking within 24 hours is free too.

Two free tools help with single contacts. Our reverse email lookup reads the domain, organization, mail routing and public profile signals behind an address. Our phone number validator checks whether a number is valid for its country, shows the line type and formats it as E.164.

Tips for Getting More From RocketReach

A few habits help any team get better results.

  • Start from the company. Search a company first, then filter by title. You get the right people faster than with a name search.
  • Use the extension where you research. Run it on a public profile you already trust.
  • Pick your email type. Choose work addresses for B2B outreach. Personal addresses suit recruiting more often.
  • Watch the export cap. Yearly exports run out faster than lookups on annual plans.
  • Tag as you go. Shared team tags on the upper tiers keep lists from overlapping.
  • Sync, then clean. If you use the RocketReach Salesforce integration, clean records before the first sync.
  • Check every export. Run it through an email checker, then send.

How Teams Use RocketReach

Each team uses the RocketReach products a little differently.

Sales

Sales reps search by company, title and location. They build a list, then push it to a CRM. The RocketReach Salesforce integration and the HubSpot connector move contacts without a CSV step. Reps often add phone numbers for follow-up calls.

Recruiting

Recruiters search by skill, past employer and school. Personal addresses matter more here, since candidates may not want messages at work. The Bullhorn connector sends candidates straight into an applicant tracking system.

Marketing

Marketers use RocketReach to build account lists. Intent signals help them time campaigns. They usually export larger batches, so the yearly export cap matters most for them.

Whatever the team, the last step before outreach is the same. Check the list, then send.

RocketReach Features by Plan

The RocketReach features table shows what each tier unlocks. In October 2026, it looked like this:

FeatureEssentialsProUltimate

Healthcare dataNoNoYes
CRM connectorsNoYesYes

All three include contact and company search, contact verification, lists, CSV enrichment, the Chrome extension and developer access.

How to Read a RocketReach Contact Record

A lookup result packs a lot onto one screen. Read it in this order.

  • Name and title. Confirm the person is the one you want. Check the current employer first.
  • Location. A city helps tell two people with one name apart.
  • Emails. Work and home inboxes can both appear. Prefer the business one for B2B outreach.
  • Phones. Direct dials and mobiles show on upper plans.
  • Company block. Size, industry and location help you judge fit.
  • Social links. A profile link lets you double-check the role.

If anything looks dated, treat the whole record with care. Search the person on the RocketReach official website again a week later, or confirm the role on a public profile.

RocketReach Alternatives at a Glance

RocketReach competes with other B2B data tools. Common names include:

  • Apollo.io: a large B2B database with built-in sequences.
  • ZoomInfo: an enterprise data platform.
  • Lusha: people data with a browser extension.
  • Hunter: email finding by domain.
  • Cognism: B2B data with a European focus.
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator: search inside LinkedIn, without email data.

They differ in data coverage, phone data, price and contract terms. Whichever you choose, the same rule holds: verify the list first.
