   Here is how to read your SPF record, and how to build a clean one. SPF lists the servers allowed to send mail for your domain. The SPF Checker reads the record your DNS actually serves, with no signup. That matters, because the record in your DNS panel and the one receivers see are not always identical. Enter your domain, and click Check SPF.

   Here is the live record for this domain. v=spf1 marks it as an SPF record. The include tag pulls in Google's list of allowed servers. And ~all covers everyone else. It's a soft fail. The strict version is -all.

   Need a new record, or a cleaner one? The second tool is the SPF Record Generator. First, list every service that sends mail as your domain. You can add up to five IP addresses and three includes. Enter your domain, then add the include for your provider. This example uses Google. Keep the policy at ~all while you test. Move to -all once every legitimate sender is listed. Now generate the record.

   You get one TXT record, ready to copy. Set the name to the @, or your bare domain. Publish only one SPF record per domain. If there are two, receivers give up instead of merging them. Each include also counts toward SPF's limit of ten DNS lookups. Once it's published, run the SPF Checker again to confirm what's live.
